What makes Chiropractors different?

Decidedly Different

“Why no drugs?” Chiropractic is a drug-free profession. Better stated, it is vitalistic. Vitalism means that you are more than just the sum of your parts. 2+2=YOU not simply 4. If there is more to you than trillions of cells, how can education give a researcher enough knowledge to understand how each cell interacts with another and the entirety of your being? It can’t. But inside you, there is something that can. It is born with in you. Your innate intelligence. It always knows what you need and why you need it. That is better than any pill, potion, or lotion made by a person!

Rx Problems

drugs make doctors richThe settlements are in the billions of dollars, $3 billion against GSK in 2012 and $2.3 billion Pfizer in 2009, for violating False Claims Act/FDCA relating to safety, off-label promotion, and kickbacks according to the US Dept. of Justice. Couple that with 106,000 (Null, 2011) deaths from properly prescribed drugs in the US, and you have problem. Drugs are formulated for the average. There is no such thing as average when it comes to a human life. You are extraordinary. No two people are the same. Every drug reacts differently to each person.

Half of All Hospitalized Children at Risk

Pediatrics, Dec. 15, 2014, reports that nearly 250,000 children and teenagers in 2011 were administered potentially lethal drug combinations out of 500,000 cases studied. That is an astonishing 50% of the hospital admissions that were studied. Dr. Chris Feudtner, of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, stated that those interactions could possibly boost the risk of side effects, like sedation, breathing suppression/distress, internal bleeding, reduced iron absorption, and death. But the biggest concern, he stated, was that the effectiveness of each medication could be greatly reduced. 43 U.S. children’s hospitals submitted administrative data for the study and are looking at ways to help mitigate the impact of the studies findings. Enrico Ligniti, director of pediatric pharmacy services at Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New Hyde Park, stated, “It’s always going to be a balance, because each individual is unique.” The truth is, there is no fail-safe way of knowing how one person will react to a medication. The best course of action is to make sure you and your children are checked regularly by your chiropractor, eat foods that support a healthy life, stay hydrated, and promote a loving home life.
